Psychopharmacology
Description
The administration of psychotropic drugs may give relief in cases of mental depression or in other forms of mental illness. Drugs which are or have been used include monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI), tricyclics, lithium salts, and sympathomimetic amines (tranquillizers); bromides, calmatives and nervines (sedatives); amphetamines (stimulants); and hallucinogens.
