Mastery of form (Buddhism)

  • Se-tzu-tsai (Ch'an)

Context

Tsung-mi demonstrated that, in the stages of phenomenal evolution he described, each step on the process of delusion can be counteracted by a step in the process of enlightenment. In this the sixth step, realization that what one perceives are simply manifestations of the mind gives mastery over these objects and thus counteracts manifestation of objects of perception, the fifth stage of delusion.
