Lokottara consciousness (Buddhism)

This awareness is that experienced by a Buddha completely beyond this world. Persons and things are known not to be real; but the principles of the two kinds of void, of persons and things, are absolutely real (sanyata). According to Lokuttaravadins, the historical life and actions of Buddha are mental images and mere appearance.
