'Ilm al-basir (Sufism)

  • All-pervading knowledge

Description

Prolonged practice of remembering reality on the continuous motion in the body means that consciousness of this knowledge may be acquired without first being aware of it in the physical heart. Attention is elevated to the whole body, at first for short periods of time, then for longer, and finally all the time.

Context

This is the sixth state arising in the method of dhikr described by Shaykh Kalimallah.
