Identity-strength

  • Ego strength

Description

The extent to which consciousness is exceptionally well-defended with respect to boundary situations, namely where the person has succeeded in making his own interests and energy, or sense of belonging, into a closed, habitual pattern of self-reference. This is associated with tight confidence, unambiguous clarity of view, a serious sense of rightness and, possibly, a feeling of narrow, if autonomous vitality and direction.
