Equanimity due to insight (Buddhism)
- Indifference due to insight
Description
Equanimity or indifference arises, whether about insight, as neutrality about formations; or in adverting, incisive and sharp. The meditator, thinking that such equanimity has never arisen before, believes he has reached fruition, interrupts the course of insight. This is karmically unprofitable, because he mistakes the path.
Context
One of the ten imperfections of insight of Hinayana Buddhism.
