Deceit (Buddhism)

A pretence at having good qualities which generates "wrong livelihood" through the deceitful amassing of goods.

One of the twenty secondary afflictions of Tibetan Buddhism; also one of the four passions – kasaya – of Jainism, hindering the soul on its journey to liberation.
