Apratisthita nirvana (Buddhism)

The state of one who, totally liberated, would be able to achieve motionless [nirvana]

after death and have no further contact with the world. However, this is renounced by the transcendent [bodhisattva]

in accordance with the vow to lead others to liberation. He therefore experiences [apratisthita nirvana]

, liberation in this world, no longer bound by thoughts or desires and creating no karma to bind him, free of the natural laws of the universe and manifesting in any form.
