Synchronicity

  • Coincidence

Description

1. The concurrence or coincidence of events which may be logically or conceptually, but not causally, related. Also, these kinds of events which in addition, exceed the statistical probability of occurring together.

2. A principle which attempts to eliminate the time factor from a linear cause-effect relationship without taking in consideration time reversal, time stop and other anomalies that may be imputed to time from relativistic and other theoretical physical frameworks. From a logical-physical perspective, coincidence or synchronicity may result from (or be caused by) anomalies in causation, time, or space, or by a combination of these, or by anomalies in other fundamental, ontological categories such as existence (being).

3. The C G Jung theory of magic and occultism i.e. the modus operandi of astrology and other forms of divination (by dreams, by I Ching oracle, etc.).
