Probabilistic system
- Markov systems
Description
A system in which some of the states may be predicted with certainty, but others can be predicted only on a basis of probability, since it is possible at some stages for the system to move into one of several states. Because one state of the system is known, it does not follow with certainty that the next state can be described. Many of the more advanced technological processes and man-machine systems are of this type.
