Description
General shape or pattern recognition in material objects having individual differences such as printing faces of different sizes, styles, or geometrical patterns. The essence of pattern recognition lies in one definite meaning being allocated to whole classes of patterns which are examined by machine for the existence of certain describing features and for the meaning allocated to them on the basis of these existent or non-existent characteristics.
