Paradox
Description
1. As distinct to right or correct or normative concepts or ways (orthodoxy), and to divergence and dissent (heterodoxy), the paradoxical assertion is beyond exclusive affirmation or negation. Paradox is characterized by explicit or implicit 'Tolerance' of irreconcilables.
2. In logic a paradox is a contradiction and in semantics its presence is a negation of meaning. In epistemology, however, a paradox may be regarded as instructional (e.g. Zen koans).
