Network synthesis
Description
A branch of the theory of electric networks which deals with the systematic determination of the structure and element values of an electric network in order that it should have certain preassigned characteristics. The first part of the synthesis problem involves the approximation of the required characteristics by a rational function corresponding to a physically realizable network. The second consists in finding the physical network which has the function as an impedance (admittance) function.
