Graph theory
Description
The systematic study of configurations of points and lines joining certain pairs of these points, particularly for application in the symbolic presentation of comparative qualitative and quantitative knowledge (on paper and other surfaces). A graph may be analyzed and defined in the terms of mathematical set theory. Representations also can be given pictorially and analytically. The pictorial representation of a graph is useful for depicting structural situations.
