Goals

1. Goals and targets may be considered as synonymous. They refer to short-term and minor aims. Goals are objectives expressed in a specific dimension and are usually very concrete. They may exist for an organization as a whole, for major divisions and departments and for individual performance. Most short-range goals of an organization are defined during the course of the budgeting process.

2. An operational objective which a system seeks to achieve or maximize.
