Economic policy

The implementation, by government, of systematic measures to affect the economy, usually in accord with specific social and political philosophies. Economic policy regularly invokes theories of economic behaviour of systems, societal and market segments, and individuals, and employs sophisticated computer models and statistically elaborate forecasting as, for example, in five year plans.
