Communication channel capacity
Description
The upper limit of the transfer-rate, usually in bits per time-unit, of messages or information through a communication channel. A measure of the information which a channel can store or can transfer per time-unit or per character. (It must be sufficiently great to resolve ambiguity in the information transmitted, according to Shannon's Tenth Theorem).
