Chemical synthesis
Description
The combination of two or more chemical components (or of parts of such components) to form a single system with some degree of stability. The process of organic synthesis in organisms underlies all assimilation, growth, and repair of tissues, as well as the normal function of synthetic and reproductive tissues. All other organic processes reduce to local cycles which leave no cumulative chemical result within the organism.
